I went to Regionals in New Hampshire and I slept at Holiday Inn. I played in the pool for 1 hour and I did not want to get out, but I had to get out. We ate dinner in the diner. We had to wake up at 4:00 in the morning to get ready and then practice.
My team did not win. This is why we did not win - the people who were judging us said that we looked too old! We did not mess up at all! We crimped our hair and put a black bow in it. We also put red lipstick on and gold and black on our eyes, and blush, too. They also said that some of us had dirty uniforms and shoes. Some of the girls cried because we did not win. I cried a little bit then I stopped.
I went in the pool again with most of the kids on my squad. We all had a good time and had fun there. Everybody smiled. It was just the “oldness” - that is why we lost the competition.
My family and I went back to the place where I cheered to watch the older girls (11, 12, 13 that is). I felt bad because their music didn’t come on at the right time and everyone started the routine at a different time. They did not get a trophy for our team. We watched 600 kids cheer until 11:00 at night. That was a lot!
